Inquiry Learning

Over the past couple of weeks we have been developing our ability to ask questions about learning. We have explored, conceptualised and inquired into various areas within and outside the classroom. These photos are only some of the moments that were captured.
In Room 21 this week we began to investigate into how other countries celebrate Christmas.

What bugs can we see?

What plants can we see?

The Gingerbread Man

Run, run as fast as you can... This week in Room 21 we read The Gingerbread Man. We conducted a floating and sinking experiment. We predicted that a gingerbread biscuit would float but it did both. We got the opportunity to make our own gingerbread men. It was lots of fun!

Solving simple addition problems

Today we used our problem solving strategies to recall facts within in 10. We are always learning to count on in Room 21. Here are some pictures of what we did.

Big book this week was Goldilocks and the Three Bears. In our writing we decided to write an alternative ending to the traditional story. Look how focussed we are. We also learnt how to make porridge. Yum yum!

Spoooky Spiders

As it was Halloween this week we decided to make our very own spooky spiders on webs. We used white oil pastels and bright coloured dye to make our art. Here are some pictures of what we did and the final outcome.

Counting On

We got to experience our maths outside of the classroom. In these pictures we are learning to recognise numbers and count on. We learnt about number lines and how to form our numbers properly.
